So sorry I was MIA!

Hello friends,

I am so very sorry that I have been MIA. I was actually hospitalized for 9 days with high blood pressure and an pneumonia. This all happened just days after my family had gotten here from Pennsylvania and the moving truck with all my stuff! Needless to say, I just got home Friday and I have so much I need to catch up on. I apologize if I've been absent on your blogs but I am home now so I will be visiting your blogs again. I also would like to say that my YNS giveaway is going to be postponed for a later post as there were only 2 commentors and I would have needed at least 10 to give away the cute stamp. So keep your eyes out for that. As I have said I have a ton of catching up to do and I need to get into my craft room and get crafty for upcoming design team challenges. I look forward to visiting your blogs!

Have a wonderful day!

Another challenge with Just A Scrappin'!

This is my 2nd post today..... for my first post  & a giveaway CLICK HERE

Hey my friends... its another Thursday which means there is another challenge going on at Just A Scrappin
. This week's challenge is to create a card, layout or project using an animal, embossing and 3 buttons. Here is my card for this week's challenge:

For my card I used Bazzill and Fancy Pants papers. I used my Tim Holtz Carnivale embossing folder to emboss the white layer and inked it with some sky blue momento ink. I like the look this gave. My sweet little bird is from Our Daily Bread's You Will Find Refuge stamp set. I colored him using my copics: B24, B32, B45, E27, E33, Y19 and R05. My bird is popped up on some foam tape along with the sentiment which is from Paper Trey Ink's Just the Ticket stamp set. They are both on a round doilie die that I cut out using my cuttlebug and embossed with swiss dots and that is also layered up on foam tape. I added some washi tape around the tops/bottoms of the layers for some color. To finish off my card I added 3 blue buttons from my stash along with some twine from The Twinery and a sweet blue satin bow.

That is it for today but please be sure to stop over at Just A Scrappin to see what my other design team sisters have created. Thanks for stopping by today!

Your Next Stamp & a Giveaway!!

Wow can you believe it is August already??? I have been anxiously awaiting for this month to get here because I have some exciting news to share! Ready??? Oh I am so thrilled to let ya'll know that I am guest designing with Your Next Stamp this month! When Karen asked me to be guest designer way back in March, I almost fell off my chair with joy! It has really been hard to not say anything!

Our first challenge this month is to create a card or project that uses the colors: Orange, Yellow and light and dark shades of Pink. So I grabbed this adorable Fairy Fhiona stamp from YNS and this is what I came up with:

My card today is a 4x4. Papers used are Bazzill and My Mind's Eye. I colored sweet Fhiona using my copics E00, E000, YR01, YR14, YR 09, Y06, Y08 and C5. Fhiona is up on foam tape and the layer she is on is also up on foam tape. I used my EK success punch to frame out the sentiment "Hugs" from Mary's Cardz TV Stamps called Encouraging Thoughts. The sentiment originally said "Big Hugs" but I only inked up the "hugs" part. I added a few strips of washi tape and used my MS border punch to give a little decorative edge to the card. I added some gold glitter to her wings and finished off the card by adding a butterfly from SEI, flower and brads from Prima.

How would you like a chance to win this cute adorable Fairy Fhiona stamp??? All you have to do for your chance to win her is become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment telling me what your favorite summer activiity is in August and I will announce the winner from random.org on Monday August 6th.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today and don't forget to stop by Your Next Stamp to see all the wonderful projects that my DT Sisters have made!
